After his death, a property on Spekkersgang (later renamed Cornelis Albertsstraat) was bought. This building was set up as a guesthouse for six poor, reformed women from Appingedam. In 1879, the guest house was remodelled and the building acquired neo-classical and craft-traditional elements. Exactly a century later, the building was restored and in 1981 the guest house was turned into four residential units.
