Rustpunt Ik en Zorg

The former schoolgebouw next to the church has been transformed into a family home, where people with care needs are welcome for day care, accommodation and assisted living.
After years of experience in care, Gea and Eric decided to set up a small-scale care home of their own: Ik&Zorg. When they saw four years ago that the school building in Oldenzijl was becoming vacant, they saw a great opportunity. Ik&Zorg has a schoolyard and the lawn behind the building is also available to them from the municipality and the current tenant. "This is a beautiful location with wide views and few stimuli," Gea believes. "For many people who use our care, this is an ideal environment." The surroundings offer many possibilities. Peace, space but also nice cycling/walking past all our small villages, the farmlands with its cornfields and potato fields in bloom. The beautiful farms or borgen where Ede Staal already sang about.
