In the garden of Iwema Steenhuis there is the thickest tree in Groningen; a red beech with a girth of no less than six metres! In spring, the garden is coloured white, yellow and light purple by all the crocuses, snowdrops and arum lilies. In the garden there is also an orchard with Groningen apple and pear varieties. The garden and the Steenhuis are owned by Het Groninger Landschap.
