A work of art has been installed under the Oosterbrug especially for those waiting from the city centre by graphic designer Peter de Kan. Under the bridge, he affixed Werkman s poem 'Gestadige beweging'.

Waiting does not have to be boring at all. It is a nice moment to take a quiet moment to look around, do some thinking or just check your phone for new messages. The aluminium letters hang from a single point and gently sway into place when the bridge opens. Werkman is best known for his paintings and printing, and less for his literary work. His sound poems are light-hearted and playful. It is mainly about the sounds rather than the content. He combined existing words with corrupted English and French words to form a kind of potty Latin. In this way, you always discover and recognise something different in the poem under the bridge. No matter how many times you stand there waiting...
