Peddel en zo is located in a great spot, with fishing and boating water on its doorstep. It is located exactly on the border of Groningen and Drenthe in the protected village sight of Kiel Windeweer. With five national monuments, 22 municipal monuments and eight kilometres of protected townscape, this classic Groningen village should not be missed during your visit to the north. Kieldiep lies dead straight between ribbon development, with imposing farms and workers' houses on either side. Ships carrying potatoes and beets sailed here until 1970, and peat and straw even longer ago. If you cycle along the Kieldiep and back on the other side, you always have a completely different view. Across the Kieldiep are numerous original bridges, many of which have already disappeared at other peat-colonial villages.

From Peddel en zo you can sail a beautiful route from the Kieldiep to the Zuidlaardermeer. Owner Wilma Postma lovingly lays out your canoe or whisper boat for you. You can also sup or set off in an electric sloop. On the way, you will encounter many narrow swing bridges that complete the peat-colonial image. You can also go the other way, towards the Langeboschmeer on the outskirts of Veendam. Afterwards, stap the hot tub at the B&B of Peddel en zo, if you stay overnight. "And then just enjoy the peace and quiet, nature and the birds," he says.
Want some more entertainment? That's possible too. The city of Groningen, Parkstad Veendam, Assen, Annen (voted the nicest village in Drenthe), Emmen and Cafe 't Keerpunt (one of the oldest blues pubs in the Netherlands) are all nearby. In addition, Peddel en zo in cooperation with Hunzezwerftochten regularly organises customised nature trips for large(er) groups.
