Construction of the Peter and Paul church will have started around 1220. Over the years, the church was continuously expanded. At the end of the 15th century, the construction of an impressive choir in Gothic style began. Through the pointed arch windows of the choir, light enters beautifully and accentuates the colours of the paintings and pillars, so it is no wonder that when you enter the church, you look directly at the choir. Construction of the church was not completed until 1529. In addition, most striking is the monumental organ which, according to a text on the organ, was built in 1562. The builder is not known with certainty.
