Natuurgebied Ter Borg
Walk along Ter Borg in Westerwolde, Groningen's largest moorland area. You might come across a Scottish highlander!
In the hamlet of Ter Borg, it seems as if time has stood still. There are four farms and a 17th-century schaapskooi. Around it are small fields and wooded banks. The schaapskooi is no longer in use, but can be viewed. To the west of the hamlet is another original heathland of 35 hectares. The Forestry Commission has a sheep flock here to keep this heath open.
