Right in the heart of the Korrewegwijk neighbourhood lies the Molukkenplantsoen. It’s a park where you can go for a lovely walk, enjoy some exercise and where children can let off steam on one of the many play structures.

The park dates back to the 1950s and, like the Pioenpark, owes its existence to Berlage’s pre-Second World War expansion plan. Berlage’s intention was to build a ring road here, which is why no houses were built on this site during the post-war housing shortage. Ultimately, the ring road was built, but much further to the east. The Molukkenplantsoen was laid out on the site that had already been set aside for this purpose.

The park is elongated and stretches across the entire width of the Indische Buurt neighbourhood. A cycle path running down the middle divides the park into two sections. In the eastern section, the Molukkenplantsoen borders the playground of the primary school. Here you’ll find plenty of play facilities for children, including a cable car and a large climbing tower. In the southern section, there is a large pond which you can walk around via winding paths. This part of the park also features an outdoor fitness area for fitness enthusiasts and a playground for the very youngest children. The Molukkenplantsoen is a park for everyone.
