't Pannekoekschip

In the charming centre of Groningen lies 't Pannekoekschip, an originally rigged two-masted sailing clipper, built in 1908 at the famous Wed. v. Duyvendijk shipyard in Lekkerkerk.

Have a look now

At 43 metres in length and with its proud 23-metre-high masts, the ‘Verandering’ is one of the largest clippers ever built in the Netherlands.
With its mighty leeboards and the beautiful decorative carvings on the bow, after 80 years of loyal service as a sailing vessel, it now stands proudly on the charming Schuitendiep in Groningen, its 350-tonne hold now home to an atmospheric pancake restaurant.

Whether you’re in the hold, at the bow, by the centreboard, on the starboard side, in the engine room or amidships, you can feel the typical atmosphere of a sailing ship everywhere. In the engine room in particular, it is as if you can still hear the imposing engine – one of the first Deutz VM diesel engines, built in 1928 – chugging away.
