Kloosterkerk Thesinge
Once upon a time, a monastic complex in honour of Saint Felicitas stood here. This church is all that remains of this today.
Take a closer look
From its foundation in the 13th century, the church (a hall church with semicircular chancel) was used by the brothers and sisters of the Benedictine monastery Germania. The size of the monastery grounds was impressive and can largely still be recognised. The church interior is also still worth seeing, even if it is badly disfigured. The church includes a pulpit from 1630 and an organ from 1825. In 1971, the church was transferred to the Stichting Oude Groninger Kerken.
