Bootwaarker - Eem poestn
To the right of the watergate is the statue Bootwaarker - Eem Poestn made in 1995 by Albert Zweep. This sculpture is a tribute to the boat workers who were busy unloading or loading ships in the hold or on the quay. When unloading, the boat worker stood at the hoist. It was hard work and after the loading or unloading was done, the boatmen could take a rest, or 'eem poesten'.
