Secret life in a Public Body
Henk Visch's larger-than-life sculpture is a figure made of bronze.

The man stretches forward, resting on his fingertips, giving tension to the pose. Visch's images are not easy to interpret. They have a poetic beauty and invite one's own interpretations. His oeuvre is mainly characterised by enigma. This is reinforced by the titles, as in this case. Secret Life in a Public Body refers to 'a secret life'. But by public body, does Visch mean his sculpture or the place where it stands? And what are those secrets? The artwork first stood in the parkeergarage Westerhaven for five years, taking up exactly the space of a parking space there. The contrast with the shiny vehicles was striking. Since 31 March 2009, it has stood on the square near the Former Little Gate on Oosterhaven.
