A warm winter festival in a former strawboard factory
8 - 10 February 2019 - If you would like to take in a wintry festival with a summer feel, be sure to go to Grasnapolsky, where that sense of being barefoot on the grass is combined with the warmth of an open fire. In a former strawboard factory in the middle of the countryside, learn all there is to know about nature, history, architecture, art and music.
In 2019, the three-day Grasnapolsky exploratory festival was relocated from the Veluwe to the Groningen grain republic. With its 45-metre high chimney, the former De Toekomst strawboard factory in Scheemda forms an iconic landmark in the vast countryside. The complex is one of the remnants of the once extensive strawboard industry in the region. In short, this is a magnificent backdrop for a winter festival.
The Grasnapolsky festival originated in 2010 in Utrecht and in following years developed into a wonderful exploratory festival. It features indie as well as electronic music, focusing on the perfect balance between known artists and newly discovered ones. The factory and environment form a connecting thread in the musical programme, the art and educational programme, the backdrop and design.
