The seal center of Pieterburen is a seal hospital. Only animals that are ill, injured or in difficulty for any reason stay here at the shelter.
Sealcentre Pieterburen is a hospital for seals. In the shelter you will only find animals who for whatever reason are sick, injured or are in trouble. The goal is to rehabilitate these animals and release them in their natural habitat. Visitors are welcome to take a look at the seals, take a tour behind the scenes or discover the interactive visitors center. Come along in releasing recovered seals at sea or come aboard on one of the seal watching boattrips that are organized regularly.
The Seal Centre is one of the world's leading centers when it comes to the care and rehabilitation of seals. Interns and volunteers come from around the world to gain experience or to specialize. With your visit you support the Seal Centre's work.

There are different possibilities: from dipping your own candles to making a candle from your own hand (wax-hand)! ?In this candlemakery all candles are made by hand and in the old-fashioned way. Our shop is full of candles in all shapes and colours. From the sixties-dripping-candles to candles in the shape of a seal and even the famous Martinitoren of Groningen; you can find it at Wilhelmus!
