FIXY
Oosterstraat 13a - The newest addition to Groningen's nightlife is FIXY. In the old premises of OOST, KopjeK has opened a club with a raw Berlin atmosphere, right in the heart of the city. With emerging local talents, but also big names, you can enjoy diverse DJ sets with house, techno or electro. The soft opening was with BENWAL all night, a big Groningen name we can be proud of. Since then, FIXY has been providing energetic nights with young DJs and atmospheric light shows every weekend. But Fixy is more than just night. Poelestraat 14 - After putting your coat away at Tante Toos, stap straight onto Poelestraat. In an old mayor's house you will find the 'Wollie', as the locals call this club. Under the iconic disco ball, you can dance until the early hours with a cold beer or a perfectly mixed cocktail. Every night, a DJ provides classic disco records. Not done dancing yet? Oosterstraat 44 - What was once a student union has grown into an iconic music venue with big names like U2 and Nirvana. In fact, the name Vera is also short for 'Veri Et Recti Amici', which is Latin for 'True and sincere friends'. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by walls full of posters, newspapers and photos showcasing the rich music past. They call themselves the centre for pop culture in Groningen: Club for the International Pop Underground. With a focus on alternative and underground music, the pop venue focuses mainly on new talent and artists just outside the mainstream.

The city is home to several karaoke bars. The most central one is Karaokebar Sing Along on Peperstraat and in Gelkingestraat you will find The End Karaoke Groningen and Partycafé de Doos. Boterdiep 69 - Simplon, like Vera, is a leading concert venue for pop culture in Groningen. In the 1970s, the empty mackintosh factory on Boterdiep was squatted by hippies and artists.
