In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG), Marketing Groningen has a duty to disclose what personal data is collected through this website.

This privacy statement contains everything about the personal data processed through this website and our newsletter.

1. Who we are

Stichting Marketing Groningen; located at Gedempte Zuiderdiep 22, 9711 HG in Groningen and registered with the Chamber of Commerce under 02080231. TOURIST INFORMATION Groningen, City of Talent and De Verhalen van Groningen also fall under Marketing Groningen. Questions or requests can be sent to info@marketinggroningen.nl.

2. Personal data

We process (potentially) the following personal data.

  • Trade name (sole proprietorships and partnerships)
  • First name and surname
  • (postal) address
  • Email address
  • IP address
  • Phone number
  • Skype names
  • Social media account names
  • Customer number, order number, offer number, invoice number (sole traders, partnerships)

How do we get your personal data

We have obtained the above personal data from you through forms via our website for such things as bookings, registrations, telephone contact , contact via email, tick newsletter or via social media.

3. Purposes

We process personal data for these reasons.

We only process your personal data when we are allowed to do so under the AVG and for the purposes described below.

Contact

If you have contacted us by phone, e-mail, contact form or via social media, we have received data from you. We process these in order to respond to your message to us. We keep the data until after the purpose for which you contacted us.

Newsletter

Marketing Groningen offers you the opportunity to subscribe to its newsletter. By doing so, you consent to the storage of the data provided. In this way, Marketing Groningen can keep you informed of activities, news and/or developments. Marketing Groningen offers you the possibility to unsubscribe from this newsletter at any time, using a link in every newsletter we send.

When a newsletter is sent out, statistics are collected for it based on the e-mail address. By tracking our statistics by e-mail address, we ensure that newsletter content matches subscribers' areas of interest.

We will keep your data for this purpose until you unsubscribe.

Tenders

If you request a quotation from us, we will process your data (company e/o personal data) in order to send you a targeted quotation. We keep the quotation until after the agreed assignment or until the quotation is cancelled. In some cases, the quotation falls within the legal administration obligation and must be kept for 7 years to prove what was agreed before invoicing.

Billing

When invoicing, we process the data necessary to execute the order to invoice. These are at least name, billing address and possibly e-mail address as well as other data to send a correct invoice. When payment is made, we will also be shown from which account the payment came and who the account holder is. Invoices and payment details will be kept for 7 years as required by law.

Agreement

To fulfil an agreement such as bookings for group arrangements, overnight stays, city walks, webshop orders, participant agreement, (last minute) ticket shop, and/or business desk orders, we need your data to be able to execute the agreement. This data is kept until the agreement is fulfilled and as long as the limitation period has not expired. This data is also anonymised after 12 months as standard. In certain agreements, data may be passed on to third parties in order to fulfil what has been agreed. Marketing Groningen has concluded a processing agreement with these third parties.

Legitimate interest

In the above cases, we have a legitimate interest to process the personal data. We will not process more data than necessary to achieve the purpose, for which the data is needed, and to safeguard the legitimate interest.

4. Rights

We would like to inform you about the rights you have and the influence you can have on the processing of your personal data. If you wish to exercise any of these rights please contact info@marketinggroningen.nl.

  • You have the right to see the data we hold on you and you can have it corrected or deleted in many* cases.
  • Right to withdraw your consent for certain processing operations (such as sending a newsletter). Consent to withdraw your data when we have received it for a particular purpose for which you have given consent. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing before the withdrawal.
  • Right to restrict processing; for example, if the processing is unlawful or if we no longer need your personal data.
  • Right to object; you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.
  • Do you have complaints about how we handle your personal data? You have the right to file these complaints with the Personal Data Authority.

*For security and business continuity reasons, we are also required to make backups.

Marketing Groningen has taken appropriate organisational and technical measures to secure personal data against loss or other forms of unlawful processing. These measures ensure a level of security appropriate to the data we process.

6. What data will be recorded?

Cookies

Marketing Groningen records data on the use of this website. This includes visitor numbers, pages visited and properties of the web browsers used. With this data, Marketing Groningen can improve the website and adjust it to the user's wishes. Cookies are used for this purpose. On this website, cookies are placed on your computer or phone for the anonymous use of Google Analytics and Marketing cookies are deployed using a tracking pixel.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a statistics service provided by Google. Google Analytics uses various cookies. These cookies contain information that would allow Google to identify you as a visitor.

Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies can be used to compile a profile of your interests and show you relevant ads. This website uses a Facebook Pixel for this purpose. The information generated by this cookie is transmitted and stored on Facebook's servers. The cookie does not store any direct personal information. With this cookie, Facebook evaluates the effectiveness of ads and allows us to show website visitors an ad on Facebook. The collected data is anonymous and does not provide us with any information about your identity. Facebook may use this data for its own advertising purposes, in accordance with Facebook's privacy policy.

YouTube

YouTube offers the ability to embed videos on websites. This usually involves setting cookies. Using the VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, YouTube can probably identify you as a visitor.

Forms

Several sections of our websites contain forms where personal data is requested. These personal data are stored in our CMS Kunstmaan (on Dutch servers under Dutch jurisdiction) and are mailed to the specific department that needs to process the data.

Data from forms are only emailed to the department for which the data is relevant. Only people currently working in that function have access to these accounts. Only a select number of employees can access all form submissions for management purposes. All Marketing Groningen employees use two-step authentication to log in.

The data is only used to follow up on a contact request. In addition to the data you enter yourself, the time of day, IP address and the relevant page are stored to provide more context to the form submission and thus to be able to respond more fully to queries.

Forms and newsletter submissions

Forms on pages within Marketing Groningen websites that are submitted are stored by Kunstmaan CMS. These are always located on servers managed by Insiders. These servers are located in the Netherlands and are under Dutch jurisdiction. This information is for our own purposes and is not sent outside the Netherlands (now or in the future). Transport of this information is always done over a secure connection. This storage is generally unlimited.

Statistics

To collect statistics, we use the anonymised version of Google Analytics. These statistics do not contain any personal or demographic data. Marketing Groningen has entered into a processor agreement with Google for the processing of data. The option to share data with other services (including services provided by Google itself) is disabled. Transport of this information is always done over a secure connection. The storage of this data is owned by Google and is done in the EU or US under US jurisdiction and is generally unlimited.
