1. Kiekkaaste: beautifully unique spot where you experience all the tranquillity of nature. Beautiful sightlines through the decking path. Beautiful during sunset.
2. Ruiten Aa: walking along the Diamond Aa takes you back in time. Wonderful variety of nature.
3. Bourtange: beautiful fortified town with tight sightlines. Nice to photograph from above so you can see all the contours.
4. Veenborg Welgelegen: beautiful borg with beautifully landscaped gardens. Beautiful lines of sight from the garden to the borg.
5. Heemtuin: lovely place where you experience peace and quiet, beautiful views and around the Mammoth path the reeds are beautifully golden in the autumn sun.
6. Monastery and forest Ter Apel: the tranquillity is unique. Here you go back in time for a moment. Beautiful sightlines in the church and corridors. A combination with a beautiful forest around it a unique place.
7. Carel Coenraadpolder: beautiful wide vistas and you experience the elements of nature in all their power.
8. Oudeschans: a forgotten place in our province. Beautiful old fortified village and the little church there is cute and beautiful to photograph.
9. Blauwestad: a unique place where a lot of fauna can be found. A great place for nature and bird lovers. The bridge leading to it is also a well-known photography spot. Its clean lines make a nice image against the buildings and skies.
10. Borgerswold: a beautiful nature area with woods and lots of water. In autumn, a lovely walking area with beautifully coloured trees and, with your camera along, a squirrel on the photo.

1. The Midwolder forest: Ilive nearby and love to walk there. The imposing lanes with grazing Konik horses in between give a very pure feeling of nature, especially in autumn. From October onwards, the most beautiful mushrooms grow everywhere and the golden-orange beeches around and behind the Ennemaborg are then a feast for the eyes.
2. De Kiekkaaste: the vastness of the view, the special birds and the long boardwalk between the reeds to the hut outside the dike always give me the feeling of becoming one with nature. A unique place.
3. Smeerling: Smeerling is always a great place to walk. The old farms, the beautiful cultivated landscape where cows graze peacefully: a walk in Smeerling gives me peace and new energy.
4. Churches and graveyards in Oldambt: the old churches of eastern Groningen are robust and tell centuries-old stories. My Oldambster favourite is the Stefanuskerk in Finsterwolde with its detached tower.
5. Ter Apel monastery: I think the Ter Apel monastery is a fantastic place. Peace, reflection, history, a beautiful, informative museum and lovely walks in the surrounding forests.
6. Het torentje van Trips: I grew up in Borgercompagnie. As a child, I loved walking through the fields to this little tower, which then stood lonely and dilapidated in the landscape. Now it has been beautifully refurbished and houses a B&B. How nice that this old building has been given a new purpose!
7. The Fraeylemaborg: animposing, old stone house with a lovely walking forest around it. The follies make the forest a real discovery.
8. The coupures in the dykes of Oldambt: for example, the famous coupure Het Gele Diekgat, which even graces the cover of a novel by Kader Abdolah*. I think these are beautiful, historic places, which tell a lot about our region.
9. The Stadspark with the Rosarium in Winschoten: my parents-in-law lived nearby. A lovely park with forest allure, I think. As a rose lover, I love walking among the flowerbeds with the most unusual roses in the summer months. In autumn, the colours of the trees around the pond are a real treat.
10. The Scottish Highlanders in the Tjamme: the 'primal cows' I call them. I enjoy walking here and admiring the cows. A beautiful, young woodland with lots of different mushrooms in autumn.
