At the guesthouse, 12 poor Groningers found lodging in exchange for work. At the time, the guesthouse was nicknamed Lekkerbeetjesgasthuis, because food was distributed there. In 1539, the hospice was expanded to accommodate five more residents. In 1976, the guest house was closed. Today, the guest house is occupied by single and double households.
