Benefactor Hein van Aalderink from Haren was so involved with the Haren angling club in 1910 that he bought the 'pavilion and outbuildings' in that year to provide the club with a lavish home.

Upon his death in 1939, Van Aalderink was still the owner. To save the beautiful fishing area and pavilion from undesirable developments, Hein bequeathed this property in its entirety to the angling club.
