Kerk Lettelbert
When Lettelbert church was being restored in 1985, construction workers made a lurid find. When opening a scaffolding hole that had been used during the church's construction, it turned out to be full of parts of a human skeleton.

There is still no definitive answer as to how these bones ended up here and, more importantly, why. The bones have been returned to the south wall after being extensively examined. Lettelberg church was built in the 13th century on a foundation of substantial field boulders. The simple hall church was probably originally straight-arched, but now has a versatile chancel. This probably dates from the late 15th or early 16th century. The weather vane in the shape of a climbing lion recalls the church's collators, the lords of Nienoord. The simple interior was given a beautiful colour scheme during the restoration of 198. This included the discovery of the blue colour of the ceiling.
