Voormalig bankgebouw Pelsterstraat

This is typically one of those gems you walk past if you don't look up. Nowadays, this building houses a bookbinder's shop, but it was once home to the Julius Oppenheimbank.

Hence the distinguished and representative appearance of the building, which was especially not to be too exuberant. Slabs of natural stone were used for the ground floor. For the rest of the building, an orange bling stone was chosen. A turret was placed at the corner, in which various geometric motifs form the transition between the flattened corner at ground-floor level and the rounded corner on the first floor. Notable are the two carved monkeys, which protrude from the wall surface on either side near the entrance on Kleine Pelsterstraat.
