Meeden village church

The church in the middle of Meeden was built in the 15th century. Next to it is a detached bell tower from the early 16th century. A special feature is that the tower has a trefoil. A large swinging bell from 1948 hangs in the tower.
Inside is a 1801 pulpit made by B. Bekenkamp and a 1751 organ with pipework from an older organ built by Albertus Antoni Hinsz. The changing musical tastes of the 19th and 20th centuries never affected the organ, making it one of the most important historic organs in north-western Europe.
In 2016, the organ and church were fully restored. During this restoration, a Bentheimer baptismal font was found under the floor. This baptismal font, as well as other special finds, can be viewed in the church.
