Hervormde kerk Zuidhorn
Zuidhorn's church was built in the twelfth century. Originally, the church was built of tuff, a volcanic rock.

In the 15th century, the church was extended with a brick choir, the space in the church where the main altar is located. Later, in the sixteenth century, two more transepts (a space perpendicular to the main building) were added to the church. In the nineteenth century, the walls of the church were plastered, so the original tuff stone is no longer visible. Services are still held in the church.
