Kerk Noordwijk
In the centre of the village of Noordwijk, on an artificial hill, stands this simple, straight-ended, ochre-yellow hall church.
Take a closer look
On top of the church stands a dark-green ridge turret dating from 1710, housing a bell cast in Amsterdam. The bell bears the name of the church patron, Carel Ferdinand von Inn- und Knyphausen, Lord of borg Nienoord. The weather vane in the shape of a lion (which featured in his coat of arms) was donated to the church by Knyphausen in 1714. A major renovation took place in 1868; among other things, the windows were altered and the north façade was restored that year.
