The Deer Camp Vriescheloo has been around for some sixty years and has always been a popular place for young and old from Bellingwolde and Vriescheloo.

Whereas visitors used to mainly enjoy deer, goats, sheep, water birds and the stork's nest, since 2021 the deer camp has been managed by Stichting Hertenkamp Vriescheloo and a group of enthusiastic volunteers.
They are pushing for more variety of animals, better shelter and play opportunities, a feeding machine and safer fencing. There will also be benches, play equipment and a fountain for healthy pond water. This will keep the deer park a nice meeting place for residents and visitors.
