Molen de Korenbloem was built in 1895 by mill builder Siefken from Blijham. The back of the old oil mill from Scheemda was used as the basis for this new mill. That old mill dated back to 1803. The Korenbloem remained in use as a corn mill until after the Second World War. In 1947, the mill received an electric motor, after which it was used less and less. In 1967, the mill, now seriously neglected, was bought by the municipality of Bellingwolde. The mill was extensively restored and has been operating again almost every weekend since. Today, the mill houses a shop selling regional products and a guest house is located next to it.
