Location
At the zeehondenkijkwand in Termunten, you can see the mammals from up close. And in their natural habitat, at the Punt van Reide. Through peepholes you get a unique glimpse of the seals and their pups without them noticing you. In the Dollard, the sandbanks are close to the coast, which is why this is the place where young seals are born, also called the nursery of the Wadden Sea. Every day (half an hour to a full hour) before high tide, the seal mothers gather with their pups at the bottom of the dike to rest, eat and sunbathe. Often with more than a hundred animals at a time. A beautiful natural phenomenon you can enjoy on your own, without disturbing the seals.
