This church is often referred to as the Jacobi Church, named after the apostle James the Greater. However, references in the oldest writings point to a patronage by Dionysius. This is an ancient tradition linked to the agricultural calendar of centuries past. Inside the church, one of the best-preserved instruments by the German organ builder Arp Schnitger can be seen. He delivered the organ in 1700. The case was crafted by Allert Meijer, whilst the woodcarvings are by Jan de Rijk. Key holder: F. Vogel (Heerdeweg 9, Uithuizen, 0595-431430)
