During a conversion in 1667, the Romanesque features of the building disappeared. Until 1794, the church had a freestanding bell tower. When this was demolished, the 1618 chime came to hang in a turret, atop the ridge of the building. Since 1980, the church has been owned by the Old Groningen Churches Foundation. A latest restoration took place in 2012. The Adorp Cultural Committee regularly organises activities and exhibitions in the building.
