Piloersema - / Hamsterborg
The Piloersemaborg or Hamsterborg is a borg located in the Groningen Westerkwartier in the village of Den Ham, belonging to the municipality of Westerkwartier. It is the last farmborg in the Netherlands and is currently in use as a hotel and restaurant.

In the farm section of the manor, you’ll find goats, geese, chickens, sheep and, in spring, lambs too; there are also three horses. The manor also provides accommodation for guests’ horses: so you are welcome to bring your own horse with you. The stables are located in the barns, and behind the rear section there is a lovely riding arena.
In this, Europe’s oldest cultural landscape, it’s wonderful to cycle (we have bikes for hire), walk and/or go horse-riding. Countless paths and lanes wind their way through the meadows and past picturesque villages. The city of Groningen, home to the famous Groninger Museum , is just a 15-minute drive from ‘Piloersema’. This charming student city, with its countless cafés and nightlife venues, is well worth a visit.
