Molen De Zwakkenburg
The Zwakkenburgermolen is a polder mill. It was built in 1865 to drain the Zwakkenburgerpolder and the Ellersvelderpolder. This allowed water from those polders to be pumped to the Van Starkenborgh Canal.

The mill operated using wind power until 1955. After that, a diesel engine was fitted to the mill. As the mill fell into disrepair, it was dismantled and taken to Heiligerlee for restoration. Following the restoration, the mill was rebuilt, but two hundred metres further south than its original location. The mill has been back in operation since 2003. Thanks to volunteer millers, the mill can still be admired in operation on a regular basis.
