De Theefabriek

De Theefabriek is a unique combination of the Netherlands’ only tea museum, an atmospheric tea room with perhaps the most extensive tea menu in the world, and a fragrant tea shop.

A paradise for tea lovers! De Theefabriek is housed in the former church and pastorie of the picturesque village of Houwerzijl, purchased in 1989 for the symbolic sum of 1 guilder (45 euro cents) and has now grown into a real tea attraction that welcomes around 50,000 visitors a year. Houwerzijl is situated in the beautiful, peaceful north-west of Groningen, on the edge of National Park Lauwersmeer.
