Location
Gasterij Natuurlijk Smeerling is housed in a listed farmhouse dating from 1742, in which many of the original features have been well preserved. A glass-walled space with a walkway has been built inside the farmhouse, offering a clear view of the roof structure of the barn, which dates from 1867.
The guesthouse boasts a delicious, traditional kitchen that uses lovely produce from the garden and the local area. You can have lunch or a drink at the guesthouse, or enjoy lovely pots of coffee and tea. In winter, the ‘Buller Jan’ is alight inside, whilst in summer it’s lovely to relax in the beautiful garden. Just a stone’s throw from the unique landscapes of Ter Wupping, Metbroekbos and Eemboerveld, you can unwind in this authentic Saxon farmhouse. At Gasterij Natuurlijk Smeerling , you’ll find the very best that Westerwolde and the surrounding area have to offer, entirely in the spirit of Cittaslow.
