Better known as the poet Rutger Kopland, he published a thesis on sleep disorders in 1966. For his artwork, Daan distilled the theme of sleep from this work. The artwork depicts the sleeping figures of a woman, a man, a dog and a cat. The figures are embedded in the embankment and surrounded by a rust-proof steel border. The steel acts as a sort of low profile (hence the title Low Profile ) filled with earth.
