De Beertsterplas

De Beertsterplas, also known as Beertsterkoele, used to be a popular swimming spot during the summer. With the creation of the Oldambtmeer , swimming there has become less popular, but it still attracts those seeking peace and quiet, divers, walkers and anglers.

Fishing is only permitted during the day on the south side at the designated spots, provided you have a valid fishing licence from the Stichting Beheer Beertsterplas. You can purchase a fishing licence for de Beertsterplas online using the form on the right-hand side. This licence is valid for one calendar year, from 1 January to 31 December.

Since 2005, the Beertsterplas Management Foundation has been striving to turn the lake into a natural recreational area.
