Much in this church recalls the inhabitants of Auwemahuis and Harkema. The 17th century gentlemen's pews, for example. As are the various tombstones in the nave and choir.

Location
The bell bears the arms of Carell van Inhuisen- and Kniphuisen (lord to Nienorth, Vredewolt and Uplewardt) and of Ivo Auwema of Auwemahuis. By 1815, the school in Tolbert had become so dilapidated that an alternative had to be found. Until 1962, children were taught in the choir area of the church. To create something of an enclosed space, a bulkhead was placed in the triumphal arch.
