Zuidema's klap

Few bridges are as beautiful as Zuidema's Klap. There is no doubt about its age. 1879 can be read in the cast-iron ornament. And why the bridge is called Zuidema? Quite simple. Nearby lived the Zuidema family. And bang stands for drawbridge

Zuidema's klap is a hook-up bridge dating from 1879. The bridge was built as a connection between Niekerk and the hamlet of Panser and is over the Hunsingo canal. Over the years, some parts of the bridge have been replaced. Nevertheless, most of the bridge is still in its original state, which is why it is recognised as a national monument.
