Since 2020, the large train shunting yard has been relocated from behind the main station in the city to De Vork in Haren. In consultation with the residents of Haren, it was decided to create a beautiful green walking park here as well. During the groundwork for the park and marshalling yard, it turned out that the ground was full of objects from the past. The walking park was therefore transformed into an archaeological walking park where you can get information about these special finds. Among other things, there is a reconstruction of an Iron Age farm. Walk on the decks among the greenery and enjoy the various birds living around the water. There is a serene rust here. You hardly realise you are so close to the city, the only thing that reminds you of this is the view of the city skyline. From the decking, you can see d' Olle Grieze and the Der Aa-kerk.
