Eetcafé d'Ouwe Brandweer has existed since 1994 and is named after the fire station that used to stand opposite us. Where Pathé now sits used to be de kazerne of Groningen and the surrounding area. De kazerne started with real old fire engines, pulled by horses or manpower. This was later replaced by the first fire engines. In our eatery, you will find many photos of the heroic days of these tough men. At d'Ouwe Brandweer, we like to honour these heroic gentlemen, hence our name!
