Location
Eetcafé d’Ouwe Brandweer has been in business since 1994 and is named after the fire station that used to stand opposite us. The site where Pathé is now located used to be home to de kazerne serving Groningen and the surrounding area. De kazerne started out with genuine old fire engines, pulled by horses or by hand. These were later replaced by the first motorised fire engines. In our eatery, you’ll find many photos from the heroic days of these brave men. At d’Ouwe Brandweer, we’re keen to honour these heroic gentlemen – hence our name!
