The front part of the garden is an informal ‘slingertoen’, a landscape garden with undulating lines and paths, wooded areas, flowerbeds, ponds and a lawn. Eleven years ago, this sunny spot was nothing more than a meadow. Nowadays, Doortje Stellwagen and Alma Huisken have their vegetable garden, orchard and wildflower meadow here. Geese also live here (in their own meadow with a shed) and there is a beehive in a sheltered spot. What makes the garden special is that it is managed entirely ecologically. This not only creates a natural harmony between people, animals, plants and insects, but also results in a beautifully varied garden, full of changes in level, dry stone walls and a highly diverse range of plants. Workshops, courses and guided tours are regularly held at De Groene Luwte . It is also possible to stay overnight there. Viewings by appointment.
