Pekelderbos
Surprising is this 50-hectare recreational forest south of the village of Pekela.
While strolling along the wide paths, you will see many conifers and may encounter many butterflies, breeding birds and insects. The nature reserve is open and cycling and walking paths have been laid out in the forest. There is also a sandy beach with swimming and windsurfing facilities at the northern edge of the forest.
