In 1934, the architect Albert Wiersema from Bedum designed this austere hall church in a variation of the Amsterdam School style. The well-preserved interior also reflects the influence of the Amsterdam School, with simple geometric decorations applied consistently throughout. In 2016, the original colours were restored. On the exterior: brown-red, green, ochre yellow and black. Inside the church: brown-red, turquoise, dark brown, pale yellow and black. The floor and stair runners have also been reinstalled in the interior.
