Villa's aan Groningerstraatweg
Grijpskerk is an old village in Groningen that was first mentioned in documents dating from 1507. The built environment is diverse. Along the Groningerstraatweg there are a number of beautiful, listed villas.

For example, Rustoord is situated at the junction of Stationsstraat and Groningerstraatweg. This villa with a coach house was built in 1891 in an eclectic style. At number 23 stands the Zonnehof villa, a white-plastered house designed by Klaas Siekman from Zuidhorn. This architect designed many buildings in this region. The Art Nouveau notary’s house at number 31 was built in 1911. At the time, it was the most expensive house in the whole village.
