Kerk Westernieland
This Romano-Gothic brick hall church was built in the 13th century. Originally, the church stood in the middle of the village of Westernieland.

During the Christmas flood of 1717, the village was largely submerged, after which the church was rebuilt further to the east. As a result, the church now stands on the outskirts of the village. Against the chancel screen stands a seventeenth-century pulpit bearing the coat of arms of the collator, Schotto Tamminga van Bellingeweer. The balustrade organ, housed in a brown-painted case, with seven stops and an attached pedal, was built in 1893 by the firm P. van Oeckelen & Zonen. The central tower is crowned with a combination of a violin and wind instruments.
