A small, cosy family campsite in North Groningen, 20 km north of the city of Groningen. Centrally located within the province, making it ideal for all sorts of excursions in the surrounding area. You have free access to a beautiful, heated outdoor swimming pool with diving boards and a paddling pool. All this is surrounded by a lovely sunbathing area with playground equipment. There’s a separate pitch for the footballers amongst us. For our guests, there’s a games room with a TV and, amongst other things, a table football table. There is a lovely caravan and a chalet available to rent; these are cosily situated amongst all the other guests who come with their own caravans or tents. The caravans are fully equipped and come with all modern conveniences. Each camping pitch has planting at the rear; you’ll have unobstructed views, but from most pitches you can see the playground clearly. The swimming pool is situated at a safe distance right next to the campsite (where the campsite reception is also located). There is also supervision by pool staff. You are free to use the swimming pool during opening hours. The camping pitches are equipped with an electricity connection. Free Wi-Fi! In high season, you can order delicious bread rolls. For our younger guests, there’s plenty of play equipment, such as a large in-ground trampoline, a cable car, a slide (high and low), swings, a sandpit, a climbing arch, a sand mill, a playhouse, a monkey bar and the ever-popular marbles game. There is a tennis court and a table tennis table. Outdoor toys are also available to borrow, such as balance bikes, go-karts, small bikes and tricycles. If there’s enough interest, we’ll organise activities for the children from time to time. In the surrounding area, the countryside is lovely for walking and cycling. A visit to the seal sanctuary in Pieterburen is also one of the options. Or how about a salt marsh tour on the Wadden Sea (for children aged 7 and over) or, for the slightly older ones, a proper mudflat walking tour? A boat trip across the mudflats is also an option. You can easily take day trips to Schiermonnikoog, Ameland or the German Wadden Sea island of Borkum. All are very easy to reach from the campsite. The open-air museum in the village is definitely worth a visit.
