Kovvie

Since 5 August, Ten Boer has gained another cosy meeting place. At Kovvie, coffee, lunch, local produce and socialising come together. It’s a place where you can easily pop in for a good cup of coffee, a tasty lunch or a treat.

Kovvie: Ten Boer’s living room

The idea for Kovvie arose from something that Marianne and Rebecca themselves felt was missing in the village: an accessible and cosy place where villagers can meet and where visitors also feel welcome. With Kovvie, they aim to create Ten Boer’s ‘living room’: a place to settle down for a while, catch up and enjoy themselves.

Families have also been catered for. For children, there is a cosy play area where they can have fun whilst their parents enjoy a coffee or lunch. When the weather is fine, the sunny terrace is a lovely spot to sit outside.

Local produce is at the heart of Kovvie. The coffee comes from Maalwerk in Delfzijl, the bread from Bakkerij Henk Post in Ten Boer and the milk from the Boerderijwinkeltje in Sint Annen. In the shop area, you’ll also find various regional specialities and handmade items from local craftspeople, such as postcards, posters, ceramics and tiles.

Kovvie is open from Tuesday to Saturday. It’s a lovely spot to stop off for a coffee, lunch and a treat whilst visiting Ten Boer or the Groningen area, and to get to know the village straight away.
