The guest rooms are located in the detached stone agricultural barn, which has been completely renovated to modern standards. The agricultural shed was formerly used for storing agricultural machinery, and the rooms where the guest rooms are now located used to house goats and cows. You can still find traces of the cowshed in the "scullery" of one of the guest rooms. The buildings are located at the back of the 25,000 m2 plot and are surrounded by farmland. The plot is accessed via a long driveway with plane trees, rhododendrons and fruit trees. You will find nature very close by: barn owls live in the ridge of the agricultural shed. The guest rooms are characteristically and sustainably converted and equipped with every comfort. They have their own access, underfloor heating, sanitary facilities, private parking and a wood-burning stove that you can fire up yourself with clean, dry firewood. Electricity is generated by solar panels, the rooms are heated by a heat pump and rainwater is reused for flushing the toilets. All rooms are on the ground floor. The large garden offers year-round opportunities to sit outside, walk and enjoy the surroundings in the vicinity of the guest rooms.
In Alteveer Buiten, you can enjoy peace and space and beautiful surroundings with many cycling and walking opportunities. Alteveer is centrally located in Oost Groningen. Various walking and cycling routes take you past nature reserves and through villages and there are many nice addresses to visit such as places of interest, museums and restaurants.
