Location
On the wall above the shoe shop in the city centre is a mother stretching out her arms for her child. Michel Velt based the work on conversations with residents of the neighbourhood, so he hopes they will also recognise themselves in it. With this colourful creation, Beijum has become a little more beautiful.
Groninger Museum X Writer's Block
With three large wall-filling artworks to be created in the coming months in the Groningen districts Beijum, Vinkhuizen and Paddepoel, the Groninger Museum Museum seeks contact with the city's residents. National and international artists, including Michel Velt and Tito Mulk, are creating new work, which can be admired by everyone. This street art project, set up with Writer's Block, is part of the fringe programme accompanying the exhibition JR: Chronicles, which was on show at the museum.
