Wall House #2
Wall House #2 is now managed by the Groninger Museum. Various exhibitions and events are held in the building from April to November, but the house is worth a visit for its unusual architecture alone.
In the 1970s, US architect John Hejduk designed several Wall Houses. The houses were to be built in the US state of Connecticut. In the end, only one was realised. In 2001, the year of Hejduk's death, a Wall House was built in a residential area on the Hoornsemeer in Groningen. The huge wall, 18.5 metres wide and 14 metres long, is particularly striking. Attached to it are the various rooms of the house.
