Experience a fun day out with the STAR's museum trains! Come along, sniff the smell of steam and enjoy the journey between Stadskanaal and Veendam. Want to sit in the driver's seat? You can in our museum in the carriage shed at Stadskanaal station. In the museum, we also have an extensive exhibition on the history of our railway. What did it used to look like? Which stations were all langs de spoorlijn? You will find out all about it. Don't miss our events either!
After the last freight trains ran in 1990, from 1994 the trains of Museumspoorlijn STAR arrived, preserving the railway as an industrial monument. Historic steam and diesel trains run between Veendam, Stadskanaal and Nieuw Buinen during our driving days.
